They actually are. There have been a few patches found along the border that are connected to various terror groups in the Middle East. There have also been some cases of Arabs and Afghanis hiring expensive coyotes (is that what they are called) to take them across the border. If they wanted a better life, they wouldn't have the money to buy safe passage. Either that or the Taliban is now into drug smuggling.

We don't. How do we know that terrorists aren't coming to the US as students, or "guest workers", or truck drivers? We don't, but those are much more likely ways for them to get into the country than sneaking over a heavily guarded border without any possessions.
