I just found out from Yahoo!News. I voted for her in 1990 and '94 when I was still a Dem-bulb, but can't really think of anything remarkable she did as Governor, other than helping Kay Bailey Hutchinson get elected to the Senate (unwittingly, of course, since Kay's a Republican; for those who didn't live in Texas in '93, look it up). I'm always saddened when anyone dies, even a liberal; I hope she found God before going.

Your question is pretty cheap.
She was a great person that spoke for the poor and minorities, that were often ignored in male dominated Texas politics.

I didn't know that! That must be recent news. I didn't know her, but I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who did care about her.
