And as everyone else stated. Im going to assume that you meant Sneakers aka Shoes. And yes, I believe a pair could cost $120. Hell they could even be $300. All depends on whos making them. Now me, personally I dont buy shoes that cost for $80. And thats on a good day, Lol. But yes, Jordans cost about that much. And its a crying shame. The kids are so wrapped up in material things its crazy. Long as they're in style and makes them look "hot". Then its nothing to spend a crappy little 120 on shoes. I dont have that type of money!
And I do think it takes more money to make a shoe than a tv. I guess I say that because of the types of materials they use to make them. All the stinching has to be correct, colors, sizes. Tv's seem more simple to make. Really in these times.

I'll assume you meant sneakers... but even so, the price of anything is determined by how much people are willing to pay for it... so if a product is, (for one reason or another) "in demand" then of course people are willing to pay a premium for it. Marketing people are great at creating an artificial demand for a product so people will be willing to pay a little more.
If you're really talking about 2 snicker bars though, i'd only pay that kind of money if
1) it was the last to ever come out of the production line
2) half eaten by somebody famous who just got assassinated...
3) i was stuck on an island for over a year with nothing to eat but fish
4) some guy bet me $500 that nobody would be dumb enough to pay $120 for 2 snicker bars.

Snickers the candy bar? No.
A pair of sneakers? Yes.
If a celebrity is backed behind it then you're buying it for the name.
If a certain brand has developed a reputation over decades of having a good product, then yes.
You say a TV takes more time to be made, but an expensive sneaker company is promising a long shelf-life for their shoe.
Buy a pair of shoes worth $20 and compare it to a pair worth $120.
See which lasts longer...

Ofcourse, thts the brand talking mate. The brand has spent alot on advertising, r&d, engineering for total comfort....there are many brands which cost way more mate....
Its all about Brand power & quality mate, nothing suprising or new.
If you wanna compare like this, a $120 tv 19inch is not worthed as well, you can purchase 21 inch tv made in china for 50 bucks because they cost only 10 bucks when made in China, suprised? Let me tell you more, China can make Discman, or even Mp3 players which are small and light for only 3bucks, which country can beat this price? No wonder the international Labour Organization are crying their pants out...

actually sad to disappoint ya..........snickers cost more than TV...the cost of making a TV(everything included) is about $70 which meant after deduction they still made profit of $50.....the pair of snickers you bought cost about $110.........of which $10 goes into making that snickers ........the other $90 goes into advertising(stars like beck ham , Bryant , woods ; they don't come cheap, u know..........so that poor slob like you will buy the product......the store u bought from just make a measly $10 from you.

It costs about $20 to design, develop, test the shoe. Shipping and advertising adds another $10. Warehousing and distributing adds another $30. The company adds its profit of $30. The retailer marks it up another $30.

have you ever looked at the price of skimpy, high end womens shoes or anything designer for that matter. Electronics are cheap bc of new technology and better manufacturing tech. when they find new shoe technology(i cant believe i just said that) the old stuff doesnt stick around long bc of changing styles. and they charge what ever we are dumb enough to pay for something. if every one in america refused to pay more than 80 dollars for a pair of shoes that is the most they would ever cost.

I wouldn't buy a shoe that costs that much, it would have to be one damn good looking shoe, and last a long time, otherwise it isn't worth it. But hey if thats the kind of stuff you spend your money on all the power to you.

supply and demand. people are willing to pay that much money for a pair of shoes, so thats what they cost. ive paid just over 100.00 for shoes, but those were leather boots that lasted 3 years. they would have lasted longer if i wasnt so rough on them.
