Just because a few coaches put them on top of the poll, their fans seem to think they are unbeatable. They had to put somebody there to start the season until they are able to evaluate teams. Sure they beat over-rated Texas. So what. An SEC team will win the national championship. Most likely that will be LSU. They have the most complete package. Their defense hasn't given up a touchdown in over 12 quarters. That includes the whipping they gave to Miami last year in the Peach Bowl. Buckeye fans I welcome your comments.

THE Ohio State University has a great chance to end up #1 this year but LSU is my pick to compete with OSU for the top spot. I do want my school (Fresno State), to do well down at LSU but we'll have to see.

Southeastern fanatics are TOO funny! They are the most disillusioned, and least educated fans in college football.
Ohio State at the end of last year would have annihilated ANY TEAM IN THE COUNTRY!!!!! The Buckeyes have returned virtually all of their offense, and their defense will steadily improve all this season.
As the delirious Southeastern fanatic should know, Miami has NOT been themselves since losing the 2002 national championship game to Ohio State. Louisiana State has four road games this year, starting this weekend at Auburn ( who I favor to win ), and will likely lose two of them. WAR EAGLE!!
Ohio State does not have any easier schedule. If you were an educated college football fan, then you would know that even the scrub teams are totally psyched up to try their best to beat the #1 ranked team, whoever that may be from year to year. The #1 ranked team ALWAYS gets the oppositions BEST effort.
So, Southeastern dreamer, wake up, and enjoy the drama as the season unfolds. Root for your conference down there, and good luck. Perhaps, if a Notre Dame, Ohio State, or Southern Cal should lose a game, then Auburn will have a chance. The odds are against it. I believe Ohio State will play against the Southern Cal vs. Notre Dame winner, for the title. Right now though, everyone has the right to hope and speculate. However, the Big Ten Conference is extremely challenging and tough - so don't spout your Southeastern propaganda this direction. We never bought into it, and we never will!

GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ohio State will win their EIGHTH National Championship this year

Ohio State has an explosive offense. Two potential Heisman winners with Troy Smith and Ted Ginn, Jr. Yes, they lost key defensive players from last year, but the two teams ahead of OSU last year lost key offensive players. In all likely hood the National Championship game will pit two undefeated teams against each other. LSU has several tough games to play including this week at Auburn. If Ohio State runs the table they deserve to be in the big game.

Ohio State is a Jugarnaugt team one of the biggest in the country
rarely are they NOT in the BCS
And most these teams that they beat are not bad teams
they have the coaching
they have the tallent
they have pretty much every thing they need to win the championship
people rank them #1 because they feel its theirs to lose

I am a HUGE big ten fan but I will admitt that the SEC is a stronger conference
which is accttually a weekness for them because they beat each other up its nearly impossible to come out of that conference undefeated
I think it takes a lot more than tallent and coaching to win in the sec I think it takes a lot of luck
If one team does come out of the SEC undeafeted (I like Auburn) then I think they should be in the national championship

(I'm not saying that any SEC team is better than OSU I'm saying that having a schedule like florida's its almost impossible to loose less then 2 games)

LSU? They played two extremely weak teams. Try playing a ranked team in the first two weeks and get a real schedule. Ohio State at least had the guts to put a tough team on the schedule and not two cream puffs. They have the offense and from the looks of the Texas game the defense to go with it.

particular, i'm a Buckeye fan. I incredibly have under no circumstances lived in Ohio (close IN). You rankings & convention communities used to solidify claims of greatness are lame. particular the great 10 no longer ranked as intense, yet they have as good (a million or 2 interest distinction) a non- convention checklist because of the fact the SEC or the different of the BCS conferences. And H2H Big10vsSEC final year 2-a million final 5 years 8-6 final 10 years 13-13 Doesnt tell me that SEC is that plenty extra durable.

Ohio State bottom line has a great offense. Good o-line, multitalented quarterback in smith, very good receivers (Ginn and Gonzalez mostly), and two improving running backs (including star-in-the-making freshman chris wells). The defense isn't great, i'll give you that and that could come back to get them in the end. But OSU also has that x-factor and that swagger that all great teams have. Texas certainly shouldn't have been #2 but they were a good team and the bucks proved themselves against a solid team

i would love nothing more than to see an SEC team win it all i am a razorback fan through and true, if any team in the SEC will win it all its Auburn or Tennessee and i hate the Vols but to answer your question Troy Smith and Teddy Ginn Jr., they are awesome and if they stay healthy Ohio State will cruise through the Big Ten and its hard for an SEC team to go undefeated thats why its so hard for an SEC team to win National Championship its screwed up but thats the way college football is one word fixes this problem PLAYOFF
