It depends on the type of incision they used. Most commonly, they remove the nipple and reattach it. This usually causes problems with the ducts and breast feeding isn't possible. But there are some women who are able to breast feed after reduction, it just depends on how the surgery was done.

Most doctors counsel you on this prior to the surgery. Do you remember if your doc said anything about this.

I would say it's always worth trying. You'll produce milk no matter what, and will know within a short while if you're able to express it.

I had a reduction after I had my kids. The surgery was rather simple and not complicated. Of course, I had this done about 15 years ago. My doctor said that I would not be able to breast feed due to the reduction in tissue and milk glands. I would talk to your OB-GYN and see. Who knows...things and technology are always changing.

Yes dear you can breast feed, after having a breast reduction. Having had this surgery, the breast feeding should be more enjoyable to both you and your baby. Had you not of had the surgery, your breast would enlarge even more from the lactation process. This should be a very special time for you and your baby, and a bonding period that you will treasure for life. God Bless You.

You would be able to breast feed, if they didn't cut your lacrimal ducts.. and your milk system.
You may have had that damaged during the procedure.
