You bet your sweet bippy it does (hurt that is). You are piecing a rod through your skin to make way for body jewelry. But hey, it looks cool and doesn't hurt at all after it's healed. I've had mine for 6 years. And, my nose for 13.
If you want my opinion...go to a tattoo parlor and get it done right. I pierced my nose with a sewing needle. Yes, that sucked, but I did it, and I got the belly done professionally, and it was nice.

Getting it pierced does not hurt anymore than say the ears, but the healing time can be quite long. Clothing and other body parts are constantly rubbing against it. a mixture of warm water and sea salt to cleanse the piercing with is very very good for healing as well as using a large bandaid to cover the piercing with at first. Just be sure to move the ring from one side to the other when taping it down with the bandage so that it doesn't heal favoring one side. and be sure the adhesive doesn't stick to the puncture wound.

to be honest to you, it did form for a second b/c i don't have much loose skin at my belly button. the result from that was some bleeding only about 1 hour or 2. Not as bad as people make it out to be. It's takes them a few seconds to put it in, well worth the pain to me!

depends on the person, sometimes it can be but its not the most painful piercing. It can be dangerous though because if you have a hernited colon you can pierce through it, and it will cause waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more problems than you want

when i got mine done it didnt hurt until when they were putting the ring in, but that was only cuz they couldnt find the hole again so they had to kinda poke around, but i just had my friend's friend do it that had done it to a lot of people before, so if you got it done professionally it probably wouldnt hurt cuz they know what they are doing and can do it quick

it stings a little, but it's not bad. I did mine with a safety pin and some rubbing alcohol (for real) so I bet it's better if you get it done professionally.

Yes it does, but not too bad...the hard part is the aftercare and keeping it from getting infected. With it rubbing on your clothing and all, it's hard to keep it clean and dry and non-irritated.
