I think females are being sent to prison more than before now.
But you're right - it's a double standard. Women are seen as more powerless and less threatening, and there is a perception that it's every boy's fantasy to be seduced by an older woman (the fact that it's many girls' fantasy to be seduced by an older man is conveniently ignored).
I have seen some really disgusting cases in the news where the female predator claimed rape after being caught with a teenage boy - this after letters and phone calls showed they were manipulating and even blackmailing the boy into sex. Shamefully, many of these women got off on probation.
I think this is one of those areas where the Men's Movement could do some lobbying and make a real difference, as there would be public support.

Probably because of discrimination. Having sex with the teacher is considered an achievement if you're a boy. Society does not accept as easily that young women have needs too

they still have to get on the sex offender list but i guess bc most of the time it is bc the is there first time doing it. If you look at the reacher who got pregnant by that 12 year old boy she went to jail. so probably the women who get probation that is there first offence so they get house arrest or probation.

most young males fantasize about having sex with a pretty teacher,so they do not want anything bad to happen to the teacher, but women feel that they were preyed upon by an older man who took advantage of them.It's just the way things are,if you want justice, don't sexually offend anyone.

I believe because most of the time when women are with an underage male the male is in his late teens when most men prey on little girls expecailly ones that have not reached puberty...Either way it is wrong and ANYONE who does this should be sent to jail

I think it's pure insanity! I think they are evil, manipulative predators and should pay the same price as men! I am a female former teacher! There is nothing worse than someone who preys on children!

cos theres too many male molesters, so if they were all on probation soceity would be full of kiddy fiddlers. so they all go to prison, which explains why the prisons are filling up
