Okay...another question for ya'll...my next question is ... b over -9 (negative nine) so... I multiply each side by -9, right?...I tried that and got -54 over 1....is that right??? if not what did i do wrong?

correct. also -54/1 is the same as -54

Yeah, that's right, if the other side is already 9 over one. But why don't you show the whole problem. Remember negatives cancel each other in multiplication.

that is correct! so you ended up with -54/1, which is the same as just saying -54.

If you change 2(TWO) signs in a MULTIPLICATION...The expression remains the same.....SO if it helps you to understand it-- Do it..
