Would it be better if we didn't have to deal with it? Does it have too much sentimental value to get rid of? I posted this in the politics section because I'm sure some type of vote would be needed to solve this issue.

Still learning has a good point. It is easilly donateable and if enough people do it, it can create some serious cash for good causes.

I think pennies are great! I find a lot of them on parking lots and lying around in other places, and I always pick them up. I have cashed in pretty many after filling large containers with the pennies I have found (along with other found change here and there). Some of it I save for the "penny wars" at work - we donate pennies in our own department jars and put other types of money in other department jars during the "war". It all goes to charity, and we all have a great time with it. How would we have penny wars with no pennies? It just would not be the same.

I have mixed feelings... many people don't bother with pennies (won't pick them up off a sidewalk, leave them sitting on their dressers, etc) so many are taken out of circulation. I heard it costs more than a penny to make a penny therefore it is costing us money to keep the penny in circulation. However, I like the penny and think it still has it's uses.

No penny should stay, its a symbol of our national pride, economic progress and power in the world, without it many americans will be pennyless. We as a nation used to count $$, but now with gas prices so high, penny is the only hope left for us americans, please donot take away that last hope from us.
