physical change b/c the skateboard remains in it's original state, just in different places. The wheel is still the wheel, the board is still the board.

when i get a car i hope to get a fuel cell car or whichever the car industry next goes to that does not use gas. i think the gasoline engine, however little it uses, has little time left on this earth.
and everybody said: AMEN

Does the car meet my needs for transportaion?
Does the car reduce the overall impact tothe environment?
Does the car utilize a single source of fule or is it multi-fuel compliant?
Will the car retain its vaule ovr a period of time?
Will it cost more to maintain?
Will there be disposal issues with the cars fuel source(s)?

The wheel falling could be due to a chemical change and or a physical change.
1) the grease in the bearings changes properties due to dirt, moisture, heat, this could cause the grease to not lubricate as it should, causing a heating of the shaft, this heating causes a softening of the metal and results in a physical failure - ie the wheel falls off.
2) the nut holding wheel in place comes loose and the wheel falls off - physical.
3) You hit a major pot hole, the wheel breaks off - physical.
4) You take 3 hits of acid and think the wheel fell off - chemical.
5) You best friend puta drop of acid in the bearings, the acid eats the bearings away and the wheel falls off - chemical.
6) The wheel sat in salt water for 10 years and eventually rusted away - chemical.

As far as selecting a car just go for the ones with the highest gas mileage, the smaller 4 cylinder cars.

As far as a wheel falling off...that has to be physical............

Make sure the car gets great mpg and also consider alternative vehicles that utilize both gas and electric. They are hybrids and are really going to be the way of the future.
