He's something simple you can try. For about five days stop eating anything with milk in it. You may have an allergy to it, and I don't mean a Lactose Intolerance. Some people, me for instance, react to milk products by producing lots of mucous. It gets in the back of the throat and makes you feel like clearing it all the time. It will also aggravate any allergies you might have. Acid Reflux is much more of a burning, like a bad heartburn but at the base of the throat, rather than in the chest. Try the milk fast it just may do the trick. I hope you feel better. Charley

Yes, I have had this problem from several sources.
When sinus related a nasal wash with a saline solution helps a lot.
When acid related getting my reflux under better control with diet, timing eating to end at least 3 hrs before bed & acid blockers help.
Talking too much, generally at a party or loud event for me irritates my vocal cords. When irritated regardless of cause they will produce mucus.
Some people need speech therapy, short-term, because they are using their voice in an irritating way for their cords.
Your vocal cords could be irritated & chronically clearing your throat makes it worse. Has your ENT scoped you to look at your cords? He/she can also see acid on your vocal cords if that is the cause. Hope you feel better soon.

It's likely either acid reflux, chronic sinusitis, or allergies. Acid reflux can be easily treated with oral medication. Chronic sinusitis can be treated with antibiotics. Chronic allergies causing post-nasal drainage are best treated with nasal sprays, either the steroid (very safe) ones like Rhinocort, Flonase, Nasonex, etc. or a nasal antihistamine, Astelin. Follow up with your physician to work on these options and find out which treatment works best for you.

My daughter has same problem. Dr. says it's drainage from her sinuses. She doesn't blow her nose enuff. Try taking a nasal spray, and maybe an allergy medication, combo. It helps her. She has not gotten rid of it completely, but it helps. Also try to garggle warm water a few times a day. It helps too.

Your sinus dranage may be caused by a food you may be eating. Try to be aware of the food intake. Solid foods cause the mucus to drain, sometimes in excess.
