For the people whose parents cared a lot about your grades, did you become too dependent on them?

They cared alot, it is important for your future. The more you learn the better you can become.

They seemed to care, but didn't really push it. They left me to do my own homework and never checked if it was done, so I never put my full effort into it. I always pushed it to the back burner, playing guitar instead or going out with friends, because I knew nobody would check on me. I smidged out of high school with average grades, only because I knew what was on my tests. I just never did the work. I wish my parents had been more strict, or checked to make sure my homework was done. Been more active in it, something like that. Plus I remember when my parents lost interest in my homework was back when I was learning the multiplication table, and there was a question they didn't know. Basically they told me to figure it out, and stopped trying to be involved.

They cared a lot. Always proud of my good grades. My Dad didn't like anything less than an A, but I didn't get punished for it. Just told to try for the A. My Mom was always proud of me and understood my occasional B and rarely C's.

As with most aspects of my life, they didn't care at all about my grades. Even so, I still made decent grades. I think if they actually showed some interest though, I would have pulled out straight A's.

Lots. My parents did not reward good grades, they grounded us for anything below a B, unless they were very clear we couldn't help it. Might sound harsh, but it motivated us to give our best at everything we did. We all went on to good colleges and successful careers.

My mom cared; my dad barely knew what grade I was in.
