Plants get energy from the sun. We all eat plant products such as wheat, vegetables and fruit. If you think about it, the energy we get from these foods originally came from the sun. Of course, i'm not saying that the sun is the source of every single existing form of energy, but at least the energy we get from our food.

To kungfubeerpimp:

Calm down! Why are you making fun of people? By the way, the sun is the source of most energy circulating throughout your BODY. I'm not talking about all forms of energy; just the energy your body uses for cellular respiration processes such as glycolysis. Just in case you were thinking about it, don't argue with me until you get an A in both bio and bio AP, and a 5 on the AP test.

Ab is right. It is sun's energy that provide energy for plants to grow and animals eat the plants that contain sun's energy in their sugar molecules.

It's kind a like Bob builds battery and you use that battery for all toys. So Bob is source of all energy. That toy never saw Bob, but he still is source of energy.

But there are organisms that live off heat from deep underground volcanoes under sea. But these are some what rare. So may be not all life live off sun's energy, but vast majority do.

The sun provides energy for photosynthesis. You eat plants and critters that eat plants, that's your energy. Coal used to be plant material and now we use it for energy. That kind of thing is probably what they want for an answer.

Abdullah you are right, even though you relied on an argument from authority. I never bothered to take the AP bio test, and I guarantee I know way more about biology than you.
