Seriously, though -you should get something that's meaningful in some way to you, as it will be on your body. Don't get what someone else likes (unless that person is the one you're planning on spending the rest of your life with).

oh for the love of god, get something that means something to YOU. I have a yellow rose (friendship) with the letter "c" under it. For my sister Carrie, my best friend. My daughter has a COW on her back, and some of the grass is a letter A. Its a pic from a coloring book that her & a friend colored when they were like 5. The girl died of leukemia at age 16, her name is Alyssa. See if you can find a show called "Miami Ink" and see what pp get & why. Don't just throw Butterflies & tribals & chinese symbols on your body...PLEASE give it some thought. (don't do a name, even your own...its just silly)

thats really a personal decision. just make sure that whatever you get really means something to you. dont get a tatoo of something just cause its cute. i have 2- one is of my name written very fancy on my ankle and the other is a "j" that i drew because my name as well as my husbands and two kids start with j. I drew the tatoo at home and and the tatoo artist copy the design with their transfer paper and its on my left shoulder. I don't show them off per say but I am not ashamed of them. They have a very personal meaning to me that will now stay with me a lifetime. SO, think hard for a while about what you enjoy or what inspires you before you "brand yourself for life" that way, you will still be happy with your decision years from now.
