wild jack rabbits, fox and kangaroos.

My house is situated on top of a mountain which has a golf course view and ocean view. Every night, my backyard in the miniature farm section wild jack rabbits always hangs around eating my carrots and tomatos. Sometimes when you get to near to these wild jack rabbits they tend to intimidate you with the weird sound but as usual they can only intimidate, i find them very cute.
Small fox are harmless, they dont do nothing much, every night they just pass around in search for food around the golf course which is very near to my resident. Kangaroos are everywhere here, be sure you dont play around with baby kangaroos when mommy kangaroo is around, they'll kick you so hard tht you'll have a nice visit to the hospital for atleast 2-3 months, my driver, gardner and swimming pool cleaner guy tried it for 500 bucks, they all lost. First they were chased and then they were bashed like friggin mashed patatos.
I find them strange because how matter apart we are from these animals we dont realise tht we are actually close. These animals do really know me, its like they dont run in fear when they see me when i take a nite walk wth my fiance, its like they are my pets, actually they are without them home would be empty.

*But kids please dont try playing around with wild animals in your backyard, no never know what may happen.*

Well, it wasn't so much a weird creature, but it was strange to see it where it was...a duck came down our chimney into the wood stove and pounded against the door until we opened the door; then we chased the duck through the house until we could get it near an open door. Found a couple of snakes but they're not that weird either. Had a huge preying mantis on the front door (it must have been the size of a man's hand.) On another occasion , a chipmunk lived in our house for fully 2 weeks before we could get it to go outside. Oh yes, and a slimy green tree frog showed up in the middle of the floor one day! P.S., I forgot about the nanny goat that visited one morning, hung about on the porch and then left and never came back...

A flying squirrel. It was in a cold stretch of January weather in Maryland and I thought it was a chipmunk when I first saw him. They are nocturnal and Chippy would come out around 10:00 pm. Our place had a loft over the living room, and he would go up to the railing and glide onto the couch across the room over and over and over.
He showed up the next winter too. Cute little guy. He ate sunflower seeds and never made any trouble.

I walked in the bathroom one morning and seen something on the floor. I was half asleep and didn't really look at it til I set down to pee and it started hopping. It was a frog covered in dryer lint. Freaked me out. That would be the "strangest" thing in the house without any idea as to why. I'm guessing it came through the dryer vent.

Also I found a dead mole, in the doggy room. I figured they dragged it in, they do that a lot. So I tend to over look dead animals. Its the live ones that totally freak me out.

A 6 foot black shake. He lived under the house and came in through a hole in the kitchen and hung out under the sink. We left him alone, and never have any problem with mice. I did get quite a start the first time I opened the cabinet and wasn't expecting to see this thing. He shed his skin and we hung it over the mantel. It really was a full 6 feet.

We had a bat fly into our open back door... we all ran upstairs because it couldn't find the opening in the ceiling to get up there. I finally ran downstairs and opened the front and back door and after awhile it flew away. It was scary though... just because it was flying around so fast. I never saw anything like that before.

I live in the tropics....so I've seen large fruit bats, lizards, toads, HUGE bugs, a furry large jumping spider with long legs, snakes, a weird fly that looked like a mutated housefly (that scared the crap out of me) and oh, a big flying frog jumped on my leg one night when I was just dozing off.

A bird came through the chimney. Probably a sparrow.

an unidentified carcass i found under our living room rug one day...it looked like a cross between a taratula and a mouse--seriously! no clue what it was, as i didn't really want to investigate any further than throwing it in the trash...just thinking about it gives me the creeps.
