Is kool ply decking worth the money?

Our builder has reccomended Kool ply to our home for a fee. Does it really save much money?

From what I've heard, it will keep your attic temperatures lower by 20 degrees to as much as 50 degrees. I think it will save you money, especially if you live in a southern state. I would be willing to spend the extra money if I was building a house.
