Long story short. I won a judgement against someone. They filed bankruptcy. I could not collect. Out of curiosity and just for my information, I downloaded all documents pertaining to the bankruptcy filing. I have copies of the person's income taxes for the past several years. They did not report the correct income (reported 50% less than actual income for each of the three years required). How can I bring this to the attention of the bankruptcy court? What will happen if I disclose this information to the proper authority?

You may report your allegations to the United States Trustee assigned to that particular case. Upon receipt of your allegations of fraud or abuse, the trustee will proceed to conduct an investigation.

If the trustee determines abuse has occurred, the most common action is to move for dismissal of the petition under 11 U.S.C. § 707(a) for "Cause." He or she can also seek monetary sanctions, though this is not common. The debtor will also likely be time barred for a period with respect to future bankrupcty filings.

Contact the clerk of the bankruptcy court or the trustee (if one has been appointed yet).

I don't think it's your business. The trustee will most likely find it out anyway.
