A Fable is a tale, pleasant and nice to hear but not true...like a fib is not true...............Little Red Riding Hood is a Fable..........

I don't think it is. A fib is a lie. A fable is an old story that could have some small bit of truth in it but is used mainly for entertainment or for teaching a life lesson in an interesting way. A fib is not entertainment, it is usually used for personal gain or to hide something the fibber did wrong.

A fib is a lie, a fable is a story that only teaches someone a lesson. And so, if a fable said that a rabbit started talking and told everyone to shut up,and nobody liked him anymore, then the story was a lie but a lie to keep someone from telling people to shut up or just to mind their manners in general.

A fib is telling a little lie. Like saying the dog ate your homework.
A fable is fiction, but it is a story that has some sort of moral to it, so it teaches a lesson. Like Aesop's fables.
