buy a swiffer carpet flicker. It works great. Just pop it out of the closet and in seconds all of your daily dirt is trapped on a convenient little sticky pad. Visit their website for coupons. Good Luck cleaning.

The Flicker sweeper is good. I forget if it is Swiffer or Mr. clean brand but it is orange and it uses an adhesive to pick up dirt/dust on the floor and it is designed to flick bigger pieces up into the tray and underside of the adhesive. I used one and it works and is quieter and lighter than getting the vac. out each time. I would run it over the traffic areas and leave the regular vac for once a week.I recently took out all of my carpet because of allergies and it is much easier to take care of the floor now. Have a nice day!

dont use shoes or let your pet play on the carpet. Vacuum is important atleast once a week if you hate tht and dont have time, i think u should use normal ceramic or tile floor which is easy to maintain and clean.

Take shoes off at the entry way religiously! Keep your furry pets brushed and wipe down their paws when they enter the house.

You could buy one of those robot vacuum cleaners that vacuums for you non stop. An example of one is featured on the link below:
