Yahoo created this site to increase overall pageviews to the Yahoo network.

A pageview is defined as each time a user comes to a html page and views the content. That said, your question on Yahoo Answers and our responses created a "pageview". Makes sense?

Yahoo is in the business to sell advertising and pageviews have advertisements on them. That said, the more pageviews that exist on thier network, the more advertising they can sell.

Moreover, Yahoo wants thier sites to be "stickier" meaning they want users like you and I to spend more time on thier network of websites then any other website or network of websites on the internet. The number one way to make a site "stickier" is to make it interactive. Kinda like we are doing right now... ;)

Make sense?

Because, although you might not know the answer to a question, or why you are having a problem with something, maybe someone with more experience in whatever field you are asking it in might. I know a lot about automobiles and auto parts, you might know a lot about pharmacology, or dessert preparation. it's kind of like a "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" thing.

Since this is a yahoo affiliated web sight, I would say Yahoo did indeed create it.

Stupidity is a matter of perception.

If it's so stupid then why bother to ask a question in it.

You should have just ignored it and gone to other non-stupid sites.

Common sense please.
