At my school all the kids dress the same. I'm a freshman in high school. Everyone wears Abercrombie, American Eagle, Aeropostale, and Hollister. It's so stupid. All the kids look the same. I just throw on a T shirt, and a pair of jeans. There is no indivualism at my school, everyone is exactly the same.

In high school, it is often terrifying to be different or stand out. this is a fear of being made into the joke of the day. Girls were horrid in my years in school. Just plain mean and cruel to other girls who weren't wearing "the style" of the moment.
Good for you for staying "real"
By the way, as the years go by no one will remember what outfit you wore on the 25th tuesday of the school year . No one will care anymore either.
I wish more people would throw away all of their trendy made by the millions outfits and wear something they really liked- not caring a bit who else liked it or not.

It doesn't seem to be a problem with just teens... I travel a lot, it seems like the whole world is in khaki shorts/jeans and a t shirt!

Who is buying all the radical clothes you see in Vogue or GQ? I NEVER see it on the street.

So they can be "Popular". (And I say that is a bad thing. Who cares? Does it really matter what you wear? It's just clothes.) I used to be super-afraid of them, because they are so intimidating. But then I realized how stupid all of it was, and I thought, "You know what? They think that if they wear these clothes and seventeen inches of make-up they will magicaly make friends, that's their problem. Their money wasted."

That's how I felt when I was in highschool. So I dressed different and got picked on. No one wants to be singled out, and if they do, they go through a lot. But it was worth it for me. Anything to keep from looking like those hoochies and losers!

at my school its to show off how rich you are. people in abercrombie make me literally laugh (those who are just obsessed thinking its the coolest thing ever and that they are soo cool wearing clothes from the store) since all their clothes are low quality and can be found at goodwill
