"Pandemonium" is a noun. In every day use, when referring to noisy, chaotic situations, it is a common noun. The word comes from John Milton's "Paradise Lost", in which he invented the capital city of Hell - called Pandemonium (roughly meaning "all the demons") - so you could argue that it is also a proper noun.
