There was a press conference at 21:10 Eastern time...and not much was said...
- There was 1 killer, 25 yrs old of Canadian origin
- Police shot him in the stomach and he died
- One 18 yr old woman died inside the cegep (college)
- there are still a few in critical and serious condition at the MGH but we won't know their status until tomorrow
This is one of the most tragic events to be witnessed here in Montreal. When I hear about young people dying it just hurts so much more because their lives are still in front of them...This could have very well have been my own sibling...I could have very well been downtown as well...I mean it could have happened to anyone close to me, and that is what makes it closer to home...
My prayers go out to everyone and anyone affected by this tragedy...I just hope that the death toll doesn't even come close to that of the Polytechnique 17 yrs ago...even this one death that we know of so far is too many and will affect so many people who cared and loved for this young woman.
I hope we get more answers fast, since I'm still trying to figure out, how someone in this city was able to get their hands on a rifle?!

I was around the area-- at Concordia. I believe anyone who shoots "randomly" whatever his motives are is "lunatic" and crazy. The young student who died did not deserve this tragic ending of her young life--all Montreal student body and people from the city mourn her --our sympathy to her loved ones. We can not think "reasonably" and make sense of all this --certainly Montreal as a tolerant society did not deserve this-- and no other city does either --life indeed is full of surprises and constant changes -- I sincerely hope all the students body will unite to condemn violence on the campus and there should be zero tolerance to any form of threat to the tranquility of the learning environment. Hope speedy recovery for all persons who were directly or indirectly affected by the tragic event. I am a Montreal-er and proud to be -- should be everyone motto.

The news media keeps changing their story. The latest is that there was only 1 death, 18 injured, and that the man shot himself...... the police did not shoot him. Wait 10 minutes and the story will change again. Since everyone wants to be the first to broadcast news, we never get an accurate story until an investigation is complete.

We also know that he was shot by a police officer so he is set to judgment. As for checking his home, maybe there could be a link to others or maybe he was just an introverted freak.
I am not surprised by any of it, our world is full of evils. The only peace is in knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, even this doesn't make one invincible but at least there is hope in knowing that one's death brings the promise of heaven.

Society is producing too many loonies these days. I know they say guns don't kill people, people do. But that makes as much sense as saying a Nuclear bomb doesn't kill people, people do. The opportunity to kill people is dramatically increased when guns are involved and as there are so many mentally ill people around today these tragedies will continue to happen. So far 4 dead and 8 wounded.
