the temperature of the Northern Atlantic has started to drop, which affects the currents of all the Oceans? The planet is starting to heal itself, and all your drastic predictions, such as increased hurricane activity, may not reach fruition. 20 years ago, you were worried about the next ice age. What will you alarm us about next that you can't do anything about?

no, i have no noticed that. i truely hope that you are right. however, if you are, that does not mean that the world population has free license to pollute the earth- conservation and clean energy should still be a the forefront of the environmental battle. what is your source?

Few professionals recognise global warming nowadays. Not even the the media except for the ones putting out lurid scare stories.

Global warming theory was put out by Southampton university in the early eighties. Whilst some of the model proved true such as melting ice sheets and some weather changes. The rest not only failed to come true but was totally wrong. Oceans are indeed getting colder and it is not from the melt water!

The same amount of rain is falling just in different places.

For all these reasons science and most of the media now refer to "Climate Change" and not global warming.

By your own statement, if Global Warming isn't real... exactly what is the planet healing itself from?

The entire global scientific community believes in anthropogenic aka human-induced Global Warming and has given extensive proof in the form of 2000 year old temperature and carbon dioxide levels from core samples, unprecedented glacial melting that has never occurred in paleoclimatic history.

All current mathematical modelling and prediction indicates tropical storms are getting stronger, global temperatures are rising, ocean levels have raised.

Please show us YOUR proof that Global Warming isn't happening.

And yes, you're absolutely right, the temperature of the ocean has probably dropped. Could be something to do with 10% of the world's Arctic ice having melted into the oceans? That's not healing itself, that's bad. And when that water warms up as well? Thermal expansion of water, and even more glacial melting. Very bad.

How bad? Well, I'm not willing to alarm you.

NOTE: It isn't alarmism if it actually is happening.

Hmmm. you have brought up a concept of the earth healing herself (which she does) but have you taken into effect that the Gulf Stream is beginning to slow down and this thereby may be cooling the earth into a possible next Ice Age (This was my theory for the last twenty years.) This phenomena may last upwards of a couple thousand years again and will make real estate properties much much further south more expensive than they already are. personally, I think we should be planting more trees and working with renewable natural energies but no one seems to agree with me either. I'm not an alarmist nor do I prescribe to all the latest Scientific fads....I just listen to the Earth. That's my job. Blessings my Son.

My oh my! This is how they raise the new generation of ignorants who repeat what they are told... Below I include the link for a news piece which AP released just today and which just adresses what you say and how the polar ice is melting at an alarming rate!!! The source is NASA and a vast majority of enviromental scientist do not doubt global warming the slightest! But of course you, your "industry friendly" president and your SUV will live happily ever after. Global warming is just a fairy tale that liberal scientists make up to destroy american way of life and of course you being the greatest scientist of them all, know better.

Go get a glass of warm to hot water.
Put ice in it.
Ice melts and the temperature of the water does what...??!!

oops
haha
Tell the people in the south pacific whose homes are being flooded that global warming isn't happening.

In geological time, the span of humankind is just a blink of an eye, who knows what precipates ice ages, glaciers, the inland sea, etc. Todays ocean levels are significantly higher than a few thousand years ago, why? Just think, at one time all the land masses were together - wonder why they separated and they're still moving.

Good idea, I like your implied suggestion, Instead of trying to do something about a problem that we believe to be real, let's all stick our heads in the sand and ignore any problem that is a) .slow to develop or b). hard to find a solution for.

Have you noticed that the overall temperature for the PLANET has still increased.

Have you paid any attention to how long it takes nature to affect these sorts of changes on "her" own.

Man, go pontificate about something you understand.

Don't you hate when people with no scientific training (Al Gore), open their mouths and spew hot air!
