Two things I know I need to do in order to feel better, look better, and enhance my life, but something holds me back. Either I'm just not happy with myself, or one bad habit takes hold of the other. Anyone wish to share their thoughts?

Yes, these have been the big things for me for the last 15 years of my life! I have finally quit smoking (for 6 months now) and still going strong and I have started addressing the weight issues now that I'm feeling stronger with my quit. I smoked a pack a day (30) and got to the point I was so depressed and scared of dying and leaving my kids without a Mum. The thing that helped me was a site called www.quitnet.com and www.whyquit.com. These sites inlclude free info on avoiding weight gain as well.
I think I am working on changing my thinking to focus on being healthy overall rather than not doing this or that. Thats my goal.

My husband smoked for about 60 years. When he had some TIA symptoms and was hospitalized, he couldn't smoke. Then he quit cold turkey and hasn't smoked since Sept. 8, 2004. The doctors explained to him that if he smokes it constricts his blood vessels. They are already clogged and it could/would cause a stroke. Dying is one thing, but learning that he could be paralyzed for the rest of his life made him take it seriously and quit.
