Yes, by checking their IP address and their mail server.
Here's how:
1. Open that threatening e-mail in yahoo
2. Go to the end of the e-mail; at the bottom right corner there is a link 'Full Headers', click that
3. you will see a bunch of information, find 'X-originating IP' (e.g: 123.11.22.33). This is the sender's IP address.
4. check the mail server as well, find 'received from:' (e.g.: received from: ........ @provider.com)
5. Go to that internet provider (e.g AT&T, bell, aol, etc)
6. ask them who subscribed to that IP. They will have the name, address, and phone# of the sender of the e-mail. But most likely they wont disclose this information without a police beside you.

Good Luck.

This is how you can do a search for the person you are looking for or you can find email address of the person you are looking for.
Type in the address bar http://profiles.yahoo.com/abcd where abcd is the user id. You will be able to find the person's profile available with yahoo.
http://members.yahoo.com
Please click the above link. There you will find "Find People" There you will find a search box. Click the arrow of the box, out of drop down menu select yahoo ID, enter the yahoo id in the search box , click Find People now. Yahoo will display the info about that person whatever has been provided to yahoo.

you can report it to yahoo directly. Most police depts now have internet departments...they can get the info for investigating whether or not you really have a problem.

You can also look on yahoo IM and see the profile, I think all Yahoo services have profiles, you don't know it they told the truth though.
