Phonetically the word "useless" might want to be suggested "ded" and pa might want to be suggested in basic terms because it looks. There is a joke that goes: "Fish in English can be spelled GHOTI ... GH for the "f" sound as in enough, O for the "i" sound as in women, and ti for the "sh" sound as in audition."
