It is also raining, you are already cold, your stomach is empty and aches for food. The shops are shut and there is no food at home.

You call up a family member or a friend and see if they can pick you up and bring you to a 24 hour convenience store and drop you off at home.....give them some gas money for their trouble and you have tackled both problems....

Take the taxi home. If all the shops are closed you can't get food anyway right? You might as well be comfortable at home. Besides, there is bound to be SOMETHING at home to eat. If not, what about the neighbors? Or you could call a friend. Regardless, saving 20 bucks and walking home in the rain is pointless.

Buy a toy gun, run and don't pay. Rob a food shop. Get a taxi, scare the driver away. Drive yourself home. Take a nap. Surrender yourself the next day. You'll be well fed behind bars and you need not worry about being miles away from home coz the cell will surely be your home for quite some time. And by the way you'll still have $20 in your pocket....save it well.

Sorry, but I would never be without ANY food at home. I live in a thriving college town, so there's always some food stores that are open 24 hours (even on holidays). The only reason I would have to take a cab is if my car broke down, but with 150K miles on it I'll grant that's a possibility. So I would choose the cab ride, go home and open up that 4-year-old dust-covered box of pasta in the back of my cupboard. :-)

Get something that costs $5 to eat instead of 20, because thats a lot for a meal... Then use the remaining 15 to get as far as you can in a cab and walk the rest of the way

Better be hungry at home than away from it. Maybe once there you can call on a friend or neighbour. Get the taxi - You could also see if the taxi driver has a packed lunch uyou could share

Call a cab, be nice to the driver and make a deal. You can stop by his house and pick up some food and maybe his family, he takes you to your house where you cook him/them a nice home-cooked meal. A ride home, a nice meal and a new friend(s). Done Deal.

Save the money, if you can't walk 5 miles in less then a hour &15 minutes your a total wimp.

Work through the cold and hunger. Think of the hero's of Valley Forge, World War 2 and every other conflict to defend our freedom Think of how often they were cold wet, tired and hungry.
