Well that's just bloody depressing, now isn't it? I'd walk home and go to bed hungry then go out to a bulk store in the morning and get a 3-pack of bread, economy-sized jars of peanut butter and jam, and an economy-sized container of hot chocolate powder then go home and stuff my face.

Oh, that's easy. I would spend the $20 to get a hot meal at a nice restaurant. After that, when I'm no longer hungry and grumpy, the long walk home won't seem so bad. If I waste $20 for a five mile taxi ride I will just be grumpier about the cost of taxis, and still be hungry.
That's assuming it's not really late at night and it's safe to walk. Some things do come even before my stomach.

I don't think a taxi would taste very good.
I was watching old MASH re-runs once and saw Clinger eating a Jeep. I was suprised to find some vegan recipes for Jeep. It seemed like a good idea to try it, but I couldn't finish mine. Besides, it didn't taste very good and it caused some constipation.
I don't think a taxi would taste any better. It would be better to buy food since there's no food at home.

Buy the meal and eat slowly - preferably at a restaurant that's open 24 hours...hopefully I can warm up or it will quit raining before I have to walk home!

what you do is order a pizza for the $20 and have it delivered... but you hop in the car with the delivery guy.... you get home and so does the food!!
