You can't expect to really learn it just by using website.
Good instructional videos are found here:

if you're able to spend any money on it. It is the best to go to SOME classes - free or cheap group classes, this way you can get some sort of feedback.

You really can't learn to dance from a site. It best to learn from a trained pro, at a dance school. You can use Yahoo to help find one in your area.

You can learn about dances from many dance web sites but my favorite right now is http://www.ballroomdancers.com.

I also like to recommend http://www.usabda.org/ because they organize ballroom dances and teach ballroom dancing for free -- our local chapter is about to do a "mall dance" dancing in the shopping mall, we'll be teaching ballroom dance and demonstrating ballroom dance in the shopping mall on a saturday coming soon.

I've learned ballroom dance on college and university campuses in both club meetings and formal classes taken from the college. I've also taken classes at Public libraries, parks and recreation centers, cultural centers and senior centers.

Dance studios exist to sell lessons, and group classes. Group classes are always a better deal in terms of cost per hour, but you'll get more personalized attention from private lessons. If you're serious about perfecting your dancing, a combination of private lessons and group lessons is going to take you farther than group lessons alone both because of the individualized attention you'll get during the private lessons and because of the variety of experiences you get from dancing with different partners during the group lessons.

I also like the online resources of college dance groups, like the Caltech Ballroom Dance Club, http://www.its.caltech.edu/~ballroom/ or Utah Rhythm and Dance (URAD) whose web site is down at this time (sigh) but I'll give the link anyway: http://www.cs.utah.edu/~nhartner/urad/

I saw URAD dancers dance at the competition I attended (I've still never competed) and I was impressed. I looked them up on the web and was impressed with their web site and the resources they offerred to other dancers on their web site, so I bookmarked their site. Next time I go to a competiton, I'll be taking down the names of all the teams, and looking for all their sites!

http://www.learntodance.com/online-dance-lessons.htm has online text lessons in ballroom dance you may find valuable.

Have fun! I love Dancing!
