Neddie, I think I understand what you are saying, if we legalize torture then the so called enemy can do it to. They will probably do it anyway but the thing is should we lower ourselves to their level, I think not. We should be setting an example for the world. Bush has set an example alright, he is the creep kid that your mom and dad said not to hang around because people will think you are like him.

You’ve got this all *** about face. It is Bush and his gang who are torturing people - which is a violation of human rights and the constitution. You can argue that others do it as a matter of policy too (Israel for example) however the USA are meant to be the good guys.

Wake up folks most of you do not realise that he has already changed the constitution and you are no longer protected as you were. Bush and his gang can now arrest you on a whim for anything at all, they can spy on you, imprison you without trial and now they are even trying to make it legal to torture you. That may sound far fetched but other notorious fascists were also democratically elected and loved by the people until it all got out of hand. Who? Remember Hitler for one.

We're in serious trouble folks you need to stop laughing about all this and do some real thinking - The most dangerous enemy the USA has today is in the White House.

I disagree with your premise. It is not that President Bush wants our soldiers to be tortured. It is that he doesn't get the connection. There are so many unintended consequessnces looming as a result of his not understanding nuance. Next time, let's elect a grown-up.

Bush hates America folks. And the sad part is Bin Laden is still in a cave laughing his butt off saying "thank god Saddam had those WMD's, or else America would have concentrated on getting me".

It's funny how Bush and the other America hating Conservatives are war dodgers, yet have no problem when it comes to screwing our own military.

The question currently under debate is "what is torture?". When terrorists or Saddam torture people they cut off limbs, rape daughter and eventually behead. When the US tortures they mean make them stay awake for a long time and listen to Britney Spears. And in severe cases make them hold their breath under water.
