Everyone knows that the best defense is to be in the room. But who wants to be around their teenager all the time. You can't keep your kid from porn, but you can set consequences for abuse of the rules. Download a monitering program off of something like freeware.com and set up basic password protected parental blocks. Make sure it's a good password and you don't leave it anywhere(the vin number on your car is good, it's only written on your car door. But there is always ways around it, your kid might be even better then you on a computer. Just make sure your kid knows how you feel and that the computer isn't just an expensive dirty magazine. And take it away if he visits those sites. Plus moniter you cookies on the harddrive. Even if he knows to delete his trail, eventually he'll forget. Better yet you can password protect the cookies file and he can't delete it.

You can get a "safe" portal and install software to block certain content, but the best bet is to install a camera to record the monitor and don't let them know if there's a tape in the machine.
