Depends. I actually use my Ipod video to watch movies. Sometimes I wish it was smaller when I go running though.
I think perhaps I should just spend the $79 on the new shuffle that is the size of an SD card.

one you gain hard drive space - one you have the element of a smaller size - its up to you and how you think you will use it!!
If you plan to use it running - I'd go for smaller. (nano)
If you are more of a couch potato - I'd go for the bigger harddrive (30GB Video).

it is totally personal, but that 30 gb would be a wise choice and also you can get to watch videos and play games (if size doesn't matter).

neithere ipods suck majorly. and if you want wuality id go with creative zen vision m. you can find it for about 269$
