Excluding commission, exchange fees, etc, how much would this trade be. I am looking at an option on ESZ6 (mini-S&P dec future). The list price for the option is 35. When I looked it up, it stated that one option contract covers on future contract. Would I be paying $35 for this option contract, or is the a mulitplier like stock options?

Looks like you have the mini-S&P.

In futures, you don't necessarily pay for the trade up front. They hold money in margin during the trade. Most places will hold approx $1000 give or take. Each point that the S&P 500 moves is worth $0.50 total. So when you sell, the difference plus or minus your commissions will come out of your account.

Now for a futures option, I'd have to check, but the rate is again per share, so it's either $35 x 50 or $35 x 100.
