This website has links to information on recycled glass. There are several articles featuring several different topics, including an article entitled "Glass Fusing Kits for Artists and Craftspeople."

You can make glass beads using a torch to get the glass up to tempature, but I would not recommend this if you have no experience with glass. There is a process called anealing that glass has to do, it means basically bringing a piece of molten glass back down to room temp. slowly. If it cools too quickly it can develop cracks and either break right away or explode months later.

You would probably really enjoy glass slumping. You melt glass in a kiln and you can use molds to shape it. Look at a community arts center for a glass slumping class.
