Yes, it should be a personal decision just as other dangerous things such as pigging out on Doritos are.

Yes, and it use to be legal. The government has lied about pot and how bad it is for you. If other drugs are legal, like cigarettes and alcohol, I don't see why pot isnt. It is not a gateway drug, it does not make you go crazy. You don't get addicted to it. I think if the government legalized it, the crime rate would go way down and a lot of people would be helped by it. I think it is a shame that some people have actually had to do jail time for selling it. How hypocritical is that!?

I don't know, and the reason I say that is once it is made legal the government would just tax the hell out of it and you know they will never legalize people growing and selling it because then they wouldn't make any money on it and as far as it being a victimless crime what about the kid who runs across the street and the guy who hits them because his reactions were slowed because he was stoned out of his mind

Oh heavens NO!!
What would happen to the "War on Drugs?" DOC chudney is on the right track in thinking! All the funding for the war on drugs.... They'll not give that all up for marijuana.
Besides the "war" diverts so much attention away from whats really at hand in this country.

GOD yes! In the UK, we've already reduced it to a class 'C' drug, effectively de-criminalizing it. If you're caught with a small amount in your possession, and can prove it's for personal use, then you won't be arrested. However, the sentence for 'possession with intent to supply' has been doubled.
However, if marijuana IS legalized, I believe that the government will gradually reduce the amount of THC in the drug, so that eventually they will 'control' the high. If (when?) this happens, the illegal black market will start selling high-THC-content cannabis, so I guess people will still use their local dealer when they want to get stoned!

I think it should be legalized. But there are alot of people who would be against it - obviously people who don't smoke it and are ignorant about the affects of it, both in body and mind. But actually the biggest parties rejecting that idea would come from drug dealers and growers themselves. It would seriously shut down there livelyhoods.

Personally,I say no.Yet,alcohol is legal, and it impairs the ability to think and act responsibly, just as marijuana does. Seems like a double standard to me.

"Victimless crimes?" Are you saying smoking pot, which is an illegal drug, victimless? You need to look up the truth about what habitual pot smoking does to you, obviously you don't have the facts that it isn't victimless.
Those around you are victims breathing your second hand smoke, dealing with your pot-induced problems and the fear of prosecution.
