I got a 3 yrs old son and he likes to drag all toy boxes I clean out to our living room and dump them out on the floor everyday. It takes a great deal time to re-collect those toys he spreads and pack them up day after day. And I am a bit tired of declutter his toys. Maybe the way how I clean the house is not so efficiently at all that I feel so tired easily. Is there any smart mum who is good at dealing cleaning children's toy? Please teach me how...

First, I'd go through his toys and get rid of some of them. At his age he probably won't miss them. I did this with my daughter often. Good Will got lots of bags of toys. The other thing you have to do, which will require some time and patience at first, is make him put the toys back in the toy boxes. You can make a game of doing it together and brag on him a lot for doing it. Eventually, you can get him to do it alone. Keep bragging. It's great encouragment for a toddler. He needs to learn to pick up after himself. If you don't do this soon, you'll be cleaning up behind him until he has a wife to do it for him. Do yourself and your future daughter in law a favor and teach him while he's teachable. I got those big plastic containers and had my daughter throw her toys in them. She didn't have to worry about putting things up neatly which is hard at that age. All she had to do was get them in the container. I remarried a few years ago and ended up with a step child who is 13 years older than my child. She was never taught to pick up behind herself. I worked myself to death cleaning behind her every day. She never did learn. Now she's in her own place and I don't have to do that anymore, but that's why I say, teach them while they're young.

To reduce the amount of toys cluttering your home, do what I did. Little by little I started to throw some of the toys out or gave them away to charity. Really, if you think about it...the less you have of something, anything, the less you have to clean up and get it straightened. The kid don't need to play with all those toys all at once. Just keep some of his favorites. OR you can put half the toys in a bag or bin and put them away where he doesn't know where it is. When he gets tired of the 1st batch of toys, take out the other batch then store away the 1st batch.

Time for Mommy do, Son do.

Hey, you're a Mom now. Who cares if there are Legos or trucks on the floor? If your friends or visitors express their distaste over toys on the floor, ask them if they will help you pick them up.

Life is too short to focus on cleaning all the time.

But, perhaps breaking the toys down into smaller bins, placed on shelf level may help. And make sure he knows no getting out another bin without putting the first away.

Rule 1...children do not need an gluttony of toys. Keep some of them back and rotate them every month or so.

Rule 2...children as of 18 months old are generally old enough to be taught to put up their toys.

Rule 3...any toys not picked up should be taken away.

Rule 4...obey rules 1 - 3

(smiling...enjoy your son, love)

It sounds like you do the same thing i do...but my son is 1 1/2 and i'm starting to teach him to put the toys away when he is done. i think that is the only way to save yourself from cleaning up after your child for the rest of your life.

I had my kids help me pick them up, before nap time and before bedtime. If they are old enough to get them out of the toy box they are old enough to put them back. I just made it a matter of fact sort of deal. "OK, time to put the toys back in the box." Kids love to emulate Mommy. Peace.
