National Dues are $10 - if you can't afford that there are "no questions ask" grants that will pay it for you. In addition, your troop may have dues - there is also financial assistance for that as well as uniforms and books.

You should not be required to have a uniform - although I would strongly recommend a vest or sash for awards.

Your troop may have dues - but if you can't afford them, talk to you leader - there are plenty of options to help you out.

Girl Scouts does not deny membership to any girl based on financial status.

The only thing you HAVE to pay to become a Girl Scout is your registration fee of $10.

If you (or your daughter) belongs to a troop, they will be asked to pay dues. If you have trouble paying the dues, there is financial aid available through most councils. There may be costs for trips & activities but again, financial aid is available. If you pay dues, your troop SHOULD be paying for any badges/pins/patches.

A uniform is completely optional although it is nice to have at least the vest or sash. Books are also optional.

You will also be asked for a Family Campaign donation. Again, while it is nice to give, it is a donation and therefore not required.

And of course, you/your daughter doesn't have to attend GS summer camp. It's just a benefit of being a GS. Nor do you HAVE to buy (or sell) cookies.

In Minnesota you pay a registration fee of ten dollars a year. then the cost of vest. they have the candy sales in Nov. and then the cookie sales in Jan. the more products sold the more money for the troupe. sometimes my daughters troop charges for places they go or we all chip in for gas. but some stuff is free. depending on how much money is in the account. they do have forms you can fill out if you need help paying the dues and for the vest. just call your areas girl scout council. The most I ever paid for an outing was twenty dollars and that an over nighter at a water park. girl scout camp i guess is the most expensive thing if you choose for your daughter to go. it varied depending on the area and who is planning it. Here is is sixty dollars for three nights. Here we never have to pay for the badges they earn. It comes out of the troups money.

It depends on the troop. Besides the uniform, which you may be able to buy seconnd hand, there are sometimes monthly dues. My daughter's troop dues are $5.00/ month and there is a yearly registration fee of $10. Then there are the outings which sometimes cost something, but are not mandatory.

I saw one estimate that it costs around $250 per scout per year- but that probably includes all the costs that the troop and Girl Scouts contribute as well.

Sometimes you do. Kind of depends on the leader. Check with your potential leader and find out. One leader my daughter had required dues and there were lots of trips. I didn't have to send my daughter on the trips, but who wants to tell their child she can't go with everyone else. We ended up in another troop later on and I don't remember having to pay anything there. There are uniforms, but I don't think you absolutely have to have one.

You have to pay for dues, books, badges and outfit. They also have summer camps and sell cookies. All activities earn badges which you have to pay for. Check out keepers of the faith...interesting twist to girl scouts which we like.

yes you do! at the very least, you need to pay for your uniforms. Also, you need to chip in when you do group activities and outings (as I recall).
