It seems like some of you are not asking for help; you are ASKING for someone else to do your homework!!! No, I'm not an "old lady". I graduated high school about 10 years ago. What are you going to do when you go to a job interview? Ask if you can go on Yahoo Answers when you can't answer the questions?

I KNEW there were others who felt this way!!! We sure are going to have a lot of DUMB kids in the next generation if they don't stop asking us graduates everything!!

Asking for HELP is fine. Many of the kids are just using this as a tool for getting everyone else to do their work. Shame on the adults "helping" too!!!

These are the same kids you have to explain that little rubber thing on the end of their "pencil" is an "eraser." And when they stare blankly...explain it is a delete button for old people. Who know how to write and do long division, instead of just knowing how to type and use a calculator.

By the way....best question I've read all day...thanks....

I agree with ya there! My daughter and I just gave a Math answer to someone a little bit ago and afterwards we realized that the person that asked the question had a large amount of other homework questions posted. They really need to learn the stuff and do it themselves, they can't learn that way. My daughter thought it would be fun to answer the question, but it isn't going to help the person in the long run. The teachers here require all math problems to be written out, not just the answers. This lets the teacher know that the student understands the problem and shows how they got the answer.

I don't understand why people have such a problem with others asking for homework help.

One of the best skills to have once you're in the real world is knowing how to utilize your resources. If you don't know what the answer is, you just have to know where to find it.

Many of these homework questions do not apply to real world situations.

Don't underestimate these people. It's not always the most intelligent people who are most successful. It's usually the charismatic ones who are equipped with just enough information to get by.

I'm sure these people know that it's in their best interest to really learn the material. It's pointless to try to teach ethics over the internet, which means my post will also become meaningless and everyone will continue to think what they want to.

Do you think cheating is a new phenomenon? Don't be ridiculous; only the technology has changed. There have always been people who cheated to get ahead, and there always will be.
Back in the "old days", people just copied off of the good students.

I've noticed that too. They always get so pissy when I ask if they've forgotten to do their homework *lol* I've yet to see a question that asked how to go about figuring something out on their own. It's always something that looks like it came straight out of their textbooks.

The first poster must have been a kid :p

Back in the old days, we didn't have Yahoo Answers to answer our assignments. We had to toil to find the much needed answers. Nowadays due to technology, with the touch of a button, you get the answer without giving much thought about it.

I agree with you. Kids don't learn a thing when someone does their homework for them. They will be hurting in the work world.

this question is a bit rude isnt it? this is Yahoo! Answers...they are no rules as to what and what not one can ask...if homework questions werent allowed, they wouldnt have put homework help as a topic.
