You are not alone. There are several things you can do to help. If you go to your Dr. he will probably put you on birth control, but if you don't like that option, there is always over the counter med's. Be careful with those. Midol is ibuprophin, which is not good to take over long periods of time. It is bad for your liver.
Try taking a warm bath, or putting a warm water bottle on your stomach.
And- this always works for me- rub your feet. Use some lotion, and rub the arches of both of your feet. It is a reflexology thing, and it always helps me.

Though, menstrual cramp is normal to some other people, you can eliminate it. Myself, i've used to cry for those pains during my period and as what you say that you feel like going to faint or throw up, those were the symptoms I had. I also used to use midol, it helps for a little while and it comes back after certain time. In addition, you can become dependent to it, meaning, you can't take the pain away without midol. They say that the best thing to do is exercise. It can eliminate cramps: walking, bicycling, crunching, etc. When I have time or unless I forget that my period is coming, pains are surely there. But if I do, there is no or little cramp. You can try to exercise starting a week before to the day of your period. I only exercise before, not during the period period. You can probably ask a professional about it. I HOPE THIS HELPS

My daughters had the same problems, so I had to follow the directions we found doing research on it religiously. You may not like either part, but they did work without the need for drugs. First, no caffeine, no alcohol, nothing but water during the whole time. Also, cut back on salt. Cramps is a result of a build up of hormones and some toxins in your system. They need to be washed out by drinking lots of water. Cutting back on the salt will help prevent retaining it in your tissues. Yes, you will be peeing a lot, but I'm sure you would prefer it over the cramps.
The other part involves shortening your period as much as possible. Take a shower twice a day and practice self pleasuring while in the shower. Doing so causes the muscles in your pelvis to ripple and move, just like any other time you do it, except this time, it is helping you to shed quicker the endometrium lining. Don't use any insertion device, such as a dildo, as you could create a packing of the tissue, with a subsequent infection.
I did get into trouble with my daughter's mother for teaching them this, but the girls came to me for help, not their mother. We were divorced. I hope these help you.

If you are cramping right now, try a heating pad and pain medication. If you want to try to not have cramps each month, try lots of exercise, no caffeine on your period, and pre-medicate. That is, if you have a regular cycle and know when you will start, begin taking pain medication the day before so that it will already be in your system. Then take the pain medication on regular intervals.

you can try midol, take at least 2 as soon as you feel your period coming on.
I also use ibuprophen (advil is a brand name of this, but generic brands are just as effective and lots cheaper) You can take up to 3 extra strength of these as soon as you feel cramping coming on. They are muscle relaxants, and as such, will relieve your cramping.
Don't abuse either of these drugs however. Only use them when absolutely needed because it sounds as though you will have to take more than the recommended dose to aleviate your pain.
it can't hurt to check with your doctor as well.

Take midol right away.
Or, using heating pads helps alot becauise it relaxes the abdomen muscles. They even sell heating pads that you can stick on your abdomen, to releive the pain all day.
Drinking hot tea, helps.
Also keeping active..
If you just lay down, the cramps arte worse...
Also, stay away from sodas, and cold things..they can make it worse.

At the first sign of your period, take ibuprofen or tylenol extra
strength. Midol doesnt seem to work for me, but everybody is
different. Despite what people say, it is not damaging to your
body. I find that this works well, because it gets rid of the pain just
as it is starting.
Good Luck!

You can try Anaprox or Naprosyn.. you should really talk to your doctor, though-- you may have a more serious problems such as endometriosis. Regular periods should NOT hurt that bad!
