I believe you're thinking of the movie "Not Quite Human". It's from 1987. A man builds an android boy, names him Chip and sends him to school with his daughter. It stars Jay Underwood, who also did "The boy who could fly" around the same time(good 80's fun) and now does Advil commercials("I'm all Advil").

I know what movie you're talking about. I think Kirk Cameron was in it, but I'm sorry I don't remember the name. I do remember the plot...the inventor's enemies find out about him and kidnap him to make copies of him, for their "evil plot." (Isn't that always the way it ends up? LOL)

It's a TV series I think and you don't wanna know... trust me, its wack! It would have been better if the storylines & characters weren't so one dimensional and obviously contrived. It's best left buried and not revived... watch at your own peril.
