Well, first people screamed that we shouldn't be at war. Then they started screaming that we were not doing enough. Then they started screaming that we were killing civilians. The government tried so hard to please everyone, that their hands were tied. if we would have gone in full force and killed when we needed to, things we be alot further along. Unfortunately, liberals can't make up their minds, so they scream about something till their adversary agrees to it then jumps sides.

The problem is that terror always has been and always will be. It leaves a boarderless area for the Bush administration to childishly plunder, be it Iraq, Afganistan, or the USA.
We have been under the closest thing to a dictatorship since the beginning of the country because of this so called "war on terror". Domestic spying, illegal detention/arrests, torture of said detainies.

The war in Iraq is the problem, we are in effect the best recruiter for the terrorist that they have ever had. We are not fighting a war on another country with the war on terror we are fighting against an idea. It is really hard to form a line and fight terrorist as they know how to fight gorilla warfare.

You cannot defeat terrorism, so having a war on Terror is futile.
Murder can be deemed a terrorist act, Stealing, Breaking and Entering.
Terrorists only have to be right 1 time to succeed. We have to be right every time.
You cannot fight a war on terror. President Bush is a retard.
All you can do is take reasonable precautions and then deal with it when it happens, that's it.

The problem is that we are using FORCE to defeat an ideology that CAN'T be defeated--then go on acting like this same ideology is raring to take over the world and kill everyone who doesn't convert to Islam.

Bottom line: The war on terror is a joke. Just look at the "war on drugs" for reference.

Where do we start? I think the biggest problem was engaging the military so heavily, instead of law enforcement. Terrorists are all over the world, wear no uniforms, and don't represent a particular country.
Government intelligence, shared with law enforcement is the solution. That's how the recent airline terror plot in the UK was thwarted.

Terrorism is a tactic not a form of government or a philosophy. Such a war can never be "won". Just minimized. Bush WAY F'ed up. Don't fall for the lies.

We need to analyse the root cause of this terror.
There is huge resentment in arab and muslim world against usa as she is the only country that supports israel blindly who arab think has taken their homeland of hundreds of years, unfairly.
Then there are many dictators in arab and muslim world that are being supported by usa and west to suppress their ppl. These dictators are loyal to usa and west so they are being given full rights to do whatever they want in their countries untill and unless they dont go against the interests of the west and usa.
Saddam was one of that dictator that was initially supported by usa and was given chemical weapons and WMD when he was fighting iran and killing his own ppl in kurdistan. Saddam become an enemy when he invaded western friendly country Kuwait, which historically was the part of iraq before ww2.
Sofar there has been no valid link between iraq and 9/11 attack on usa and usa has wasted billions of dollars on a war that was not neccessary. Instead terrorists are still thriving and becoming even more powerfull and organised and recruiting more naive young ppl to kill innocent ppl world over.
The terrorists are evil ppl who are using the pervailing injustice and double standards of west and misery/hopelessness that is rampert in muslim world to fullfill their evil ideology.
The only way to stop and defeat this terrorism is to solve the problems of the these ppl...that is to give them a homeland where possible, try to remove dictators by not supporting them, finish illetracy and poverty and support moderates in muslim world.
This way of peaceful war against injustice, dictatorship, poverty and illetracy will cost far less in the long run and will achieve more lasting long term benefits then the war that is being fought by Bush Gov. now.
As you can never supress terror with force and terrany and will only produce more terrorists.....and this what we have seen in the last 5 years!! More killings and nothing achieved.
There is still time to correct this way of thinking and fight the war on terror with deep insight and real understanding of the root cause and trying to abolish the root cause of the hopelessness and injustice in the world.
