I was 19 (in 1999) and at university and they needed people to be used as guinea pigs in science experiments. So I got muscle biopsies done in both of my legs, twice in each leg. It left a little scar on each leg and on one of them the doctor hit a nerve (which I was warned about) so now I have a permanently damaged nerve and a tingling sensation running down my left calf muscle (luckily I don't plan on becoming a champion athlete any time soon).....all for $70.00 (AU) which purchased one text book!
