I try all methods of studying but when it comes to taking the test I seem to not do so well. I was wondering if any one had any suggestions to my question.

Studying is a very personal thing. Some people remember better through reading, some through hearing, some through doing. You have to figure out for yourself how you best retain knowledge. Don't test yourself on what you are currently studying. Think about what you are interested in, and how you managed to remember all that information about it. It could be sport results, TV series plots etc. From there, once you've figured out how you best retain information, then apply that to your studying.

One main common theme is interest. If you are interested in something, it is easier to remember things about it. Therefore, try creative ways to keep yourself interested in what you are studying. For example, you could have a mini-competition between yourself and your friends where you can see who can do the best in impromptu quizes given by each other. This will help by firstly creating an awareness of what you are studying (so you can give your friends the toughest question you know to make sure they can't answer it), and it also helps you to be more diligent in your work as you want to be able to beat your friends. There are numerous other ways that you can go about this, so do some exploring and experimentation to see what works best for you.

Good luck, and work hard!

The average person can only remember the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes of what they study so try studying for short periods of time often. Even if that doesn't work, just do what I do and not study but have your friends quiz you right before the test.

Listen in class.

If your teacher lectures, just listen. In history, I never studied. I just listened to my teachers lecture for about an hour. I remembered more from that than studying. That's why i got 94% and above each test.

But also make sure to just jot down short things, not full sentences. Just enough to jog your memory. Teaching something to someone also helps, as it makes you remember more.
