I have seen just the opposite at times today. I think doing 35 in a 55 is pretty ridiculous. I don't think speed is the real problem. People just do not pay attention at all! In the rain things happen fast.

The majority of people slow down in the wet but this frustrates the impatient drivers into driving faster and taking risks like tail-gating!?

they're always in a big hurry and when it rains it just irritates them and makes them more in a hurry because they get stuck in traffic.
