I just spent $1800- getting my transmission rebuilt. I had it for 2 wks, and it wouldnt shift. The mechenic shop came and got it to fix it again. This time since it was under warranty. They charged me another $584- for different parts on this transmission. I went and got the truck today, and it is leaking transmission fluid..Can I stop payment on the check I wrote today cause it is still not fixed? also, can I take them to small claims court for a refund? I dont want them touching it anymore. The truck had a puddle of trans fluid at the shop before I picked it up, they are denying it. Now my rear end is messed up also. What can I do leaglly? please help, they want to come get my truck tomorrow to put it back in the shop. the other part is they have had this vechicle for 9 weeks the second time around. Please Anyone with any advice would be appreciated. thanks so much

That is your call and it appears to me that your being railroaded. I would keep all reciepts and take them to small claims caourt to recoup most of your money back. YOu do have the option of stopping payment on the check, but if you feel that you have been unjustly done wrong that is crucial for you to stop payment then do so,.

If the reciept for the rebuilt transmission is'nt in your hands GET IT then take the vehicle to a respectable shop and ask them to take a look at it, find out what the first shop has done to you. From there fix the car using the warranty from the transmission, keep those receipts. Then, when it's fixed, take the first shop to small claims for all repairs and reimbursment of any money spent unnessesary. Good Luck and sorry for your inconveniance. I'm feeling bad in Oklahoma

i say you call your bank and tell them to stop the check payment ASAP, although they might give you a fee for that, and go to the court for small claims. Also, i suggest that you look for another repair shop because i think this shop, you say, is trying to drain as much of your money as possible from you.Notify the shop whenever you can and tell them straight up that you don't want them to fix your truch any more and if they don't listen to you, then you can sue them for doing something to your truck without your consent. You can also go to another shop and have different guys to take a look at what's being leaked/wrong and then compare quality. i hope this helps, good luck.

Listen,

Stop payment on check
Get truck in someone elses shop immeadiately!!!!
Tell the new shop people everything that's gone on between you and the other guys. Tell them that you need their help cause you are taking those butchers to court. The new shop should remove and dissassemble your trans and tell you what's up. You take the old guys to court and make them pay new guys. Keep all reciepts.
I can't remember if you are female or not but if you are female, tears and reciepts and testimony of new shop people will scare the crap out of old shop people. Never use old shop people again. We wrenches hate hacks like that.
