Divide 625 by 5 = 125

1000 divided by 5 = 200

125 divided by 5 = 25

200 divided by 5 = 40

25 divided by 5 = 5

40 divided by 5 = 8

Your answer is 5/8
(I stink at math - My daughter is in 8th grade and gave me the answer :))

divide 1000 by 625. or find a common number that will divide into both, like 125. 625/1000=5/8

Keep dividing numerator and denominator by common divisors until you can't reduce the fraction any further. As a starting point, try 25.
625/1000 = 25/40 = 5/8

you simplify, so you find a number they both divide by, try 4 for ex. 1ooo/4= 250 625/4=??? just keep doing that till you cant do no more, with different numbers obviously but if it cant divide evenly, dont do it
