I mean lets face it they made the thing. It's their face their mouth and their voice coming from what ever side they use. What do you think???

It's so the public knows the ad is one created by the official campaign, and not some over zealous group.

However, if they really want to impress me they should write their own speechs, and then keep their campaign promises if and when they get into office.

There is a legal requirement, if the politician's name is on the ad but they are not doing the entire commercial, that the "approval" message be included. Part of an attempt at campaign reforms.

So, any ad that is for a candidate must state who funded the ad, and if the ad is put out by their campaign committee, must include that statement at the end where they say their approve the ad. It's just a legal requirement.

They do get carried away with it. But, there were some political groups that were using politician's images without their approval, making it seem like they endorsed the message. Now, they tell you so you know for sure.
