Hi. Science News had an article this month on new observations that show a decrease in the size of the Antarctic ozone hole. If so, then maybe the reduction in CFCs is starting to be "felt" by the Earth and the healing has begun. We can only hope.

CFC's are fairly big molecules that provide a surface for ozone O3 to react and become O2. The recent decrease in CFC use has led to an increase in the ozone density.

"Because of measures taken under the Protocol, emissions of ozone-depleting substances are already falling. Based on measurements of total inorganic chlorine in the atmosphere, which stopped increasing in 1997 and 1998, stratospheric chlorine levels have peaked and are no longer increasing. possibly;but as the sun is always causing more and more to to be made i don't think that's problem that we need to be overly concerned about..
