I am a life-long native. Grew up on a farm - school 10 miles away. I have lived in Grand forks, Bottineau, Minot, Bismarck. The fact that I am still here says it all.
Depending on you personality, you either love it or hate it.

I was TDY to Minot for two weeks.
I caught a 72 hours virus while I was there. I missed Spring, Summer and Fall.
Seriously, it wasn't bad. I would have liked to do some hunting but Uncle Sam said no. It is remote and a bit barren but if you like solitude, as I do, you will like it.

I've been to Fargo area and Minot. It is a boring state, not much to do.
